As we prepare to negotiate a new MBA, WGA member approval of a Pattern of Demands is a constitutionally-required step in the bargaining process. While the Pattern does not detail specific proposals that will be made during negotiations, it is designed to inform the memberships of our two Guilds of general objectives we will pursue.
The 2026 Pattern of Demands was approved by 97.4% of voting members.
MBA PATTERN OF DEMANDS
HEALTH FUND AND PENSION PLAN

Increase contributions to Health Fund and Pension Plan.

Increase P&H contribution caps (the amount of compensation on which companies pay contributions).
COMPENSATION AND RESIDUALS

Increase minimum compensation in all areas.

Expand the MBA’s AI protections.

Establish higher minimum for “page one” rewrites.

Ensure that writers in post-production are fairly compensated.

Strengthen protections for comedy/variety, quiz and audience, and other Appendix A writers.
